Last night, I had the distinct honour of attending the inaugural Silver Pixel Awards International, a remarkable celebration of innovation, creativity, and legacy in the field of digital entertainment marketing. The event, graciously hosted in the heart of London, unfolded in an exquisite space surrounded by the ethereal presence of the Marilyn Monroe exhibition—an elegant reminder of cinematic icons past and the digital pioneers shaping the future.

Invited by Denise Parkinson, whose influence in international film marketing is nothing short of visionary, I joined an exceptional group of professionals, creatives, and executives from across the globe to pay tribute to the individuals redefining how stories are told, shared, and experienced in the digital age.

The evening unfolded with a graceful cocktail reception, followed by the presentation of three prestigious honours: the Prestige Pixel, Vanguard Pixel, and Silver Pixel awards—each bestowed upon an individual whose career exemplifies excellence, innovation, and deep cultural impact in entertainment marketing. Darnell Brisco EVP, Head of Growth Bond served as a MC of the night.

with a warm welcome by Bettina Sherick President founder Hollywood in Pixels.

Prestige Pixel Award

The Prestige Pixel Award, presented by Col Needham, Founder and Executive Chair of IMDb, was awarded to Clare Bateman-King, former Principal of CountingDown.com and Founder of CBK Creative.

Bateman-King’s digital legacy began at the dawn of fan-driven online platforms, when she helped pioneer CountingDown.com, one of the earliest websites to capture the attention of major film studios and press through its iconic Star Wars fan events. From her award-winning work at Screen International, to international leadership roles at Variety and Legion M, Clare’s contribution to digital storytelling is profound.

“Helping build CountingDown.com was one of those rare projects where passion met possibility,” Clare reflected. “I’m proud to have been part of that evolution.”

Now a global consultant and producer, she continues to push the boundaries of creative marketing, with projects involving Rosario Dawson, Simon Pegg, and Bella Thorne.

Vanguard Pixel Award

The Vanguard Pixel Award, supported by Minute Media, was presented to Bethan Fallon, Vice President of EMEA Theatrical Marketing at Warner Bros. Pictures, presented by Kristiana Carlet former VP International Ad Sales Yahoo and Spotify.

With over 26 years of industry experience, Fallon oversees the marketing strategy for more than 50 markets across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Her fingerprints are on the success of some of Warner Bros.’ most iconic theatrical releases, from The Dark Knight Trilogy and Harry Potter, to modern blockbusters like Barbie and Wonka.

“Marketing films across such a diverse and vibrant region is both a challenge and an incredible opportunity,” she shared. “It’s a privilege to be recognised for the work I’m so passionate about.”

Her dedication extends beyond campaigns—Bethan has played a vital role in nurturing emerging talent through Warner Bros.’ Creative Talent Scheme.

Silver Pixel Award

The highest honour of the evening, the Silver Pixel Award, sponsored by TikTok, was awarded to Chris Massey, Executive Vice President of Data Strategy & Transformation at Universal Pictures. His award was presented by Andrew Kelley SVP Data Strategy Universal Pictures and the Award was brought to us by Tik Tok represented by Daniela Sale UK Head of Media and Entertainment Tik Tok.

Chris’s visionary leadership in the evolving realm of data-driven marketing has transformed how studios connect with global audiences. He currently leads Universal’s data transformation efforts, integrating AI, data science, and analytics across the studio’s Los Angeles and London teams.

“I’m honoured to receive the Silver Pixel Award and to be recognised among such talented peers,” Chris stated. “Digital marketing continues to evolve rapidly, and I’m privileged to be part of a team that embraces innovation to connect audiences with incredible stories.”

From franchise giants such as Jurassic World, Despicable Me, and Fast & Furious, to his early work at agencies like MediaCom and Profero, Chris exemplifies the art of storytelling through strategy.

In Conversation: Chris Massey & Bettina Sherick

The evening featured an engaging fireside conversation between Chris Massey, EVP of Data Strategy & Transformation at Universal Pictures, and Bettina Sherick, President and Founder of Hollywood in Pixels.

Their dialogue offered a thought-provoking exploration of the evolving digital entertainment landscape—highlighting how data, innovation, and creativity are not only transforming audience engagement but also redefining legacy in the entertainment industry. Both speakers underscored the critical importance of preserving digital campaign history, while continuing to push boundaries in a rapidly advancing technological environment.
